SJ Cheesman was established in 1908 as a blacksmith shop, servicing the busy port of Pirie. The company has grown over the years and is now a heavy plate fabricator to the mining, smelting and general process industries in Australia.
SJ Cheesman is located in the city of Port Pirie, adjacent to the Nyrstar Port Pirie Smelter. Port Pirie itself is located on the eastern coast of the Spencer Gulf and is one of the major seaports of South Australia. This location gives SJ Cheesman easy access to transport fabrications to the east, west and the northern coasts of Australia.

What do we do?
As a company, SJ Cheesman is committed to providing metal trade services to a wide range of industries including the various demands of the mining, smelting and processing industries of Australia.
To achieve this, SJ Cheesman has a skilled labour force of approximately 30 people, with the ability to complete large construction projects while still being able to manufacture precision components.
SJ Cheesman employees a range of skilled people in a variety of different fields. These people work both in SJ Cheesman’s workshops as well as on site as required by clients.
